The Search Continues ...

Some photos taken during our hunt for wedding venues, was checking out the park in New Farm and did some photo shoot during our break!

Though our wedding venue hunt still continues, we have managed to narrow our choices down and hopefully get things settle by this year end. It has been a long and winding journey….seems like a trip into the unknown. But I guess this is what makes the journey exciting. It hasn’t always been nice and wonderful, we had our ups and downs, disagreement about where and what is best etc. but at the end of the day, we learned from our mistakes and to work better as a team.

And from this, I have to admit, that Leann is the more organized one between us. If it was left to me, I would probably start preparing I week before the wedding.. Neh, may be one month! I give all credit to her!

Weekend Ahead!

Poor little tired bears after the photo shot

and finally my favourite shot.....

Finally after a long stressful week, the weekend has come again to my rescue! Drawings for DA are finally done and off to client for review before heading off to Brisbane city council for approval next week. Long and stressful as it may seem, it was pretty exciting! Contradictory but as the saying goes, ‘if you like what you’re doing, its no longer work, but rather play’.

Making matters harder, I woke up with a stiff neck yesterday! Rushing for a deadline that was the last thing I needed. No words could express the agony I was in working in this condition! But I made It through and I thought it’s all going to be ok when 5 o’clock came as I could go home and rest. But little did I realise home was another 1 hour away! … all I can say, the trip wasn’t pleasant !

So, here I am, neck still a little cacat, in front of my computer, post processing Jonathan & Yc’s photo shot. Lighting condition wasn’t great but same really nice shots which I myself am impressed…and of coz, photoshop saved the day!

Their wedding will be on the 30th of November 2008, and I have the privilege of capturing this joyous occasion for them. Will be posting more photos after that…

My Nokia E65

It’s been just over a year since I had my Nokia E65. As I’m no ‘hi-tech’ gadget man! Matter of fact, I’m just technology illiterate! So, I could not for the life of me figure out how to upload songs into my phone and get photos out of it (photos which I’ve took through out the year- photos which are significant to me). And I think after a few tries, I gave up all hopes to get me Nokia fully functioning except making calls.

Not until recently, when I was going through some of my stuff, I found my old Nokia box and few CD’s inside. So, with not much to do that night, I thought ill try going through the installation CDs and see it I can get my phone working properly. After some time messing around, my few hard hours of labour paid off! I manage to download 1 year worth of photos and get to upload songs and use phone as a mp3 player. Basically happy that I’m fully utilizing the phone functions.

With all wonderful experiences, there are always lessons to be discovered. Through this, I think one thing that really struck me was how important it is the read the manual!

As I reflected on this, how true it is with our walk with Christ. Everything that we need to know about God, life and everything that goes on around us is all found it this wonderful manual called ‘the bible’. The more we read it, the better we understand it, the better we understand it, the more we would be able to function to our fullest potential.

Free Meal!

Was browsing through some of my previous photos and found some interesting photos that brought smiles to our face. It all happen during our quest in searched for a wedding reception venue. We found this wonderful place called ‘the deck’ in Southbank and thought why not drop by after work to check out the place and have dinner. So we did! Had a chat with the events manager which was a really nice guy, may be a little too nice that he can’t seem to stop talking!

The food was great, ambience was beautiful … but the best part was at the end of the meal, as we where getting ready to pay, nice little event manager said, ‘meal’s on the house’! Hallelujah, praise God!

Crashing Experience

SAD DAY! Looking at the pictures… I probably don’t have to explain meself too much why I’m at grief. For those who own a car ….you’ll understand my pain! It all happed on my way back from church. Was driving along ‘Sir Fred Schonell Dr’, little fast but not over the speed limit… it was a straight rood! Then turning a slight bent, there about 4 meters in front of me was a line up of cars that has stop because some driver was waiting to turn into some junction. I manage to stop in time and look up to see my back mirror knowing that if there was a car behind, it would probably be it! Then next second, I heard a squeak and a bang and another bang…… I was hit! The car behind me had stop in time but the car behind it wasn’t so lucky.

Anyway, long story short, it wasn’t that bad. Reason, because it was not my fault and I’ll be getting a new bumper! Since I already had some scratches on my bumper, I’m glad I can get a new one now =D ! Million thanks my heavenly father for protection and that all of us are good and well! To all me passengers, Leann, Nancy and Flora, hope you girl are fine!

BriSbanE CiTy

Finally had some time to do some writing. Last week was an adventure. Out of our my daily routine of driving to work, we ( my housemates and I) decided to catch the bus to work for the week. So, full of the photographer’s spirit, armed with my 40D, off I went after work into the streets of Brisbane city to capture some of the essences of Brisbane’s cityscape… from my perspective and to my best ability! Some of the themes include skyscrapers, signs and city at dusk. This is just the beginning, and believing the best is still to come.

The Journey Begins!

Did a little thinking the last few days, not that I usually don’t, but many things have pop up that have really caused me to ponder upon the big question of life. I think I’ve been through this before but I guess as we grow older, life change, our perspective change, and even if we remand the same, the ever spinning world around us will continue to change.

I’ve always wanted to start writing a blog (I think its cool) but this dream has never made it out of my mind. Either I lack the motivation or find no reason to put my thoughts onto paper or I’m just dead lazy. I guess it’s a combination of both!

Life’s too short to let it pass unnoticed. Everyday should be an adventure, may it be little or great, we should make the most out of it. I guess the whole reason for me doing this is because one day 10 or 20 years from now, I can look back and appreciate the moments that was once part of my life.

The other main reason is because of my new found interest into photography and the big investment made in getting me a new camera! I guess this will be part of my motivation to really make the most out of it. As the saying goes ‘a picture paints a thousand words’, I believe that each of us has our own unique way of observing the world around us and interpreting it differently to our own experiences, thus titling my blog, ‘the world in perspective’.

So, today marks the beginning of a great journey! A journey of discovery, a journey of appreciating the little moments that life has to offer.
